“The study of law begins with understanding its principles; its purpose is fulfilled through responsible action.”

Dear Students, Faculty Members and Visitors,

Welcome to DPG Law College, Gurugram.

As Principal, my priority is to build an academic environment where students receive thoughtful guidance, develop sound legal knowledge and gain the confidence to apply it. I believe that the foundations of a successful legal career are formed through consistent study, careful reasoning, clear expression and ethical conduct.

For a growing institution such as ours, each step matters: the quality of classroom discussions, the rigour of research, the guidance offered by a mentor and the opportunities students receive to learn through experience. Our endeavour is to make these elements an integral part of every student’s educational journey.

We encourage students to engage closely with legal texts, examine judicial decisions, question assumptions and support their arguments with evidence. Through moot court activities, legal drafting, internships and interaction with legal professionals, we seek to help them understand the demands of practice and explore the varied opportunities available within the legal profession.

Service to the community is equally central to our approach. Our Legal Aid Care and Support Centre provides a platform for connecting legal learning with public needs through awareness and outreach activities. Such engagement encourages students to appreciate the circumstances of others and understand their responsibility towards access to justice.

I place particular importance on approachable mentorship and an atmosphere of mutual respect. Students should feel encouraged to ask questions, seek guidance and learn from their mistakes. Our faculty members have a vital role in supporting this growth, while maintaining high expectations of academic effort and professional behaviour. The support of our management strengthens our work towards these goals.

To our students, my message is simple: be curious, prepare thoroughly, listen carefully and honour your commitments. The habits you develop during your years here will shape the professionals you become.

I look forward to working with our faculty, students and the wider legal community to strengthen DPG Law College as a place of purposeful learning and responsible professional development.

Warm regards,

Prof. (Dr.) Shobhna Jeet
